Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi – Babe (D)
Depart to Babe lake. Visit Ethnology Museum in Thai Nguyen. Lunch at local restaurant in Thai Nguyen. Then take a beautiful drive up to the mountain areas of North West. You can have a great view of rice fields, river and hill tribe people along the way. Overnight at Cong Quynh Hotel.
Day 2: Babe Lake (B,L,D)
 You have the whole day to discover this beautiful lake. Babe is a great peaceful lake situated in the middle of Limestone Mountain. Start the boating from Nang river to visit Puong grotto and Dau Dang waterfall en route. After picnic lunch, take a tranquil boat trip to discover this unspoiled non-touristy lake. Visit the village of Tay people on the side of the lake. Overnight at local house of Tay people.
Day 3: Babe Lake- Cao Bang (B)
Take a long and winding road to Cao Bang. Lunch in Cao Bang. After lunch drive to visit Pac Bo, the first place to greet President Ho Chi Minh after he returned to Vietnam searching the way to liberate the country. On the way, enjoy great scenery of limestone mountain and water-wheel, the great invention of Tay ethic group for irrigating their rice field. Overnight at Huong Thom Hotel in Cao bang.
Day 4: Cao Bang – Bangioc Waterfall: (B,L)
 This is the most beautiful drive during the trip. Drive through the scenic Ma Phuc Pass to visit Nguom Ngao Grotto, the most beautiful one in mountain area of Vietnam. Then keep driving to Ban Gioc Water - the largest and nicest waterfall in Vietnam, located right at the border of Vietnam and China. After picnic lunch at the waterfall, you can do some rafting before coming back to Caobang. Overnight at Huong Thom Hotel in Cao bang.
Day 5: Cao Bang – Lang Son (B)

Depart from Cao Bang to Lang Son, the border town once destroyed by the war but now developing so much after the open door policy of the country. Lunch at local restaurant in Lang Son. Visit the bustling market of Ky Lua and Tam Thanh Grotto. Overnight at Huong Thom Hotel.
Day 6: Lang Son – Halong Bay: (B)
 A long drive will take you from mountain area to the beautiful sea of Ha Long bay. The road is quite long but you will have a great chance to see different kinds of hill tribe people such as Tay, Nung, San Diu and Hoa. Overnight at Heritage Halong Hotel.
Day 7: Halong Bay- Hanoi (B,L)
A morning 5 hour trip on private chartered boat to discover the legendary Ha Long bay with about 3,000 isles emerging from emerald water. It was recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage in 1995. Visit beautiful grottos hidden inside mountains and enjoy fresh seafood lunch on boat. After the boat trip, drive back to Hanoi.
