Dalat

From
the time of the French onwards, Dalat with its elegant colonial
villas and mountain landscape of pine trees has been a great
favorite of people from Saigon, very well known as place for
honeymooners. It was discover by doctor Yersin, who was in fact
searching for this unknown region for a possible area to grow
quinquina. Several years went by before the General Governor of
Indochina Paul Doumer decided to establish a mountain resort here in
1917. Since then, the surrounding countryside has been extensively
developed and the town owes its rich diversity as much to tourism as
to its fruit and vegetable crop and horticultural activity. Dalat
definitely provides a breath of fresh air and some wonderful
landscapes, together with the chance to meet the hill tribe people
of Ma and Koho.

The
city of Saigon was renamed Ho Chi Minh city and drifted into
practical hibernation until the 1990s with opening up the economy
and the subsequent tourist boom. The city curls around one of the
bends in the Saigon Rive and comprises 17 districts and 5 rural
sectors, but few tourists venture out of the 1st, 3rd and 5th
districts, where most of the important sites are located. With
population about 7 millions people, the city is very famous as a
center of economy in Vietnam. Life seem to be very busy, diversity
and never stop in this city. Friendly and hospitable people is also
one of the main attraction of Saigon. The other attraction of the
city is China town which still remain its typical style from the
past.

The
Cu Chi Tunnel were of major importance during the Vietnam War. About
250 kilometers long, it is proof of the cleverness ideas of mankind
that being employed in fighting for their survival during war time.
They are a striking testimony to the resourcefulness and
determination of the Vietnamese in the face of extraordinary
military power destroyed by the American in the area. Thirty year
later the weapons are silent, the tunnel network in Cu Chi still
remind of the tragedy of the war for the tourist who come to visit
the area.

Life
in Mekong flow in the rhythm of work in the fields and the constant
comings and goings of the peasants, on foot, on bicycle, on the back
of water buffalo, by bus but most of all by boat. The delta is a
startling combination of land and water, an area in permanent limbo
between liquid and solid. The Mekong river flows into Vietnam from
Cambodia via two main branches, the Tien Giang (Upper Mekong) and
Hau Giang ( Bassac River) which empty into South China Sea through
nine separate branches so local people call its name Cuu Long( Nine
Dragon River}. A glorious carpet of paddy fields furrowed with
channels rich in silt and teeming with fish stretches far into the
distant. To explore Mekong properly, take a boat trip along one of
the watercourses or a casual stroll around an orchard, but also try
and visit a busty market or enter to one of the many
Temples, Pagodas and Churches, guardian of the Delta’s mysterious
spirit.

This
province is situated on the outer edges of Vietnam along the
Cambodian border and serves as the headquarter of one of the
country’s most interesting religion founded in the 1920’s: Cao Dai
religion. Cao Dai holy see in Tay ninh is the most attraction place
in town to tourists. The monastery has been the headquarter to Cao
Dai religion from 1927 spread out over 1km2 park . In the middle of
which stand the Cao Dai Grand Temple built in 1933. The temple is a
pagoda, cathedral and Taoist place of worship rolled into one. The
unique ritual ceremony in the mid-day here is main attraction of
tourists who come to Tay Ninh.

Can
Tho is the main administrative center of the Mekong delta and a
university town. It is also the crossroads town, a focal point for
travelers whom it will not disappoint, since the insignificance of

the city gates, the remarkable network of canals threading the
countryside reveals some of the most fascinating facets of the

At
just three-hours from Ho Chi Minh City, Phan Thiet and its beach at
Mui Ne offer a great break from the hustle and hassles of the big
city. The town itself retains some of its charm, and the colourful
harbour, home to Phan Thiet's large fishing fleet, is a popular
sight with visitors. The fleet ensures that the restaurants and
resorts in town and along Mui Ne beach are always able to offer some

Phu
Quoc, Vietnam’s largest island situated just off the southern coast
of Vietnam. Once a home to prisoners during the war with America and
then a re-education camp after independence in 1975, Phu Quoc is now
considered one of the main resort town in Vietnam, literally it is
an ideal tourist destination for nature and sea lovers. Half of the
island remains forested and the beaches deserted and unspoilt. Phu
Quoc is called the island of "99 mountains" because of its many
sandstone chains gradually descending from the north to the south.
The longest one is Ham Ninh which stretches for 30 km along the
eastern edge with its highest peak called Mount Chua (603m). While
known for its unspoiled and untouched by time and tourism, Phu Quoc
still has much to offer for scuba diving lovers. And you’ve got a

My
Tho is a capital city of Tien Giang province, and is about 2 hour
drive from Ho Chi Minh City. My Tho has long been famous for its
orchids, coconut palms, and fruit. The economy of the area is based
on fishing and the cultivation of rice, bananas, citrus fruit,
coconuts, longans, and mangos. One of the main attraction of My Tho
is the ancient pagoda of Vinh Trang, that was built at the end of
17th century. And if you are not scared, do not miss the famous
snake farm of Dong Tam.

Long is a typical province of Mekong delta. If you have only one or
